Generosity

It was certainly very kind of the Phillies to save their one loss of the series for the night we were there. Always nice to see the Reds win in person. We got to Cincy nice and early so we got to see Mascot Whiffle Ball. Most of the mascots made sense. And then there was Produce Man. He's the lovely green, lumpy guy on first in the following photograph. He's making friends with Horsepower, the aptly named mascot for the Kentucky Motor Speedway.

I was pulling for Mr. Red's team, so of course the Gapper's team blew them away. 4 to 0. Can't really do much of a recap of that game. We were sitting behind a row of very tall people at the time, and we are not very tall, so I'm not real sure what happened.

As for the real game, the Reds held the lead for the entire game. Very exciting stuff. Dunn scored on a wild pitch that was for some reason recalled. Kearns brought him home again right after. The most amazing part of the evening was Milton lasting through 7 innings (here's a picture of him in the fourth to prove that he was still there) while we went through 4 pitchers in the 8th alone. I blinked through Belisle's appearance.

And here, for your viewing pleasure, is the final score of 3 to 2, rather blurry and slightly smoky.
We finally bought ourselves some Reds shirts and also, being the mature adults we are, had helmet sundaes because ice cream just tastes better out of a miniature hat. Especially a miniature Reds hat. Now I've got to find something to do with that helmet, because it's far too small for me and far too big for Tiny Casey.
