Tiny Casey: Super Sleuth - Part I

In my quest to solve the mystery of the Great American Trash Cans, I enlisted the help of a great, though small, detective. Tiny Agent Casey and his protege, Tinier Dunnson, are on the case. The two are very thorough. To begin the investigation they researched the different kinds of recepticles they might be looking for.

First up, the small, beige-ish white kind of can:

Then the medium, blue can:

And finally the large, green can(s):

I'm not exactly sure how examining the trash cans around my house will help them, but they're the detectives. Tune in next time for the continuation of this mystery.

Relief

You all will be happy to know that Tiny Casey has at last been saved by one DevilsAdvocate. So congrats on collecting your fantastic prize and thanks for rescuing my man! For those who are interested, Blade "Boys Don't Play With Dolls" Stevens kidnapped him. Reading a book my arse. That book hasn't even been released yet.

Welcome home Tiny Casey!

Anything But The Turtle!

There was no letter today. Just a picture. It speaks for itself. A turtle beating Casey with his very own bat. Alas! He must be saved soon! JD says he cannot have kidnapped Tiny Casey because he was watching the Sopranos that night. Red Hot Mama has offered a handsome reward for the safe return of my little man. The others have yet to respond. How sinister. No one's off the hook yet, though. Not until Casey is returned and the kidnapper is identified.

Previous clues here and here.

Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

It is a sad, dark day here at We Heart the Reds. I returned home from my parents' house yesterday to discover that Tiny Casey was missing. In his place I found this letter:

We HeaRt the Reds types,

I have kidnapped Tiny Casey. To pRove you aRe woRthy of him, look foR the clues in this and lateR letteRs. They will diRect you to the secRet site wheRe I have concealed youR fRiend. If you fail to discoveR this location, ceRtain peRil awaits the miniatuRe man.

Regards,

Casey's KidnappeR

And this photo:

I know the kidnapper has to be either Red Hot Mama, Shawn, Blade, Scott or JD. They've all been very jealous of my relationship with Tiny Casey. I never thought it would come to this, though. There's a reward for the first person to find Tiny Casey and correctly identify his kidnapper.

Please help me find him. I cannot imagine life without my tiny pal. Tinier Dunn is hanging around to keep me company and take care of Rex, but it's just not the same.

The Tale of Sir Casey (or I Have a Lot of Trinkets)

The following is a product of boredom and an excess of cute decorative items:

Once upon a time there was a peaceful land.

One day the peaceful land was invaded by an evil dragon.

The valiant but diminutive Sir Casey, with his shining foil armor, came to save the day.

There was a tremendous battle (in my kitchen).

The brave Sir Casey's back was injured. Luckily he escaped with only a few fractured vertebrae, but will be out of action for 6 to 8 weeks.

In the end, the dragon was vanquished...

And Tiny Sir Casey got all the ladies.

THE END

Coming up next, the Marlins at the Reds.

Bonk!

In honor of Casey's getting beaned in the head and in order to avoid mentioning the eventual outcome of the game, here's a picture of Tiny Casey the Pirate with a bandaid on his head. Sean's face must be some kind of blunt object magnet. Luckily he wasn't hurt too badly today.

I guess it's kind of hard to tell that the bandaid is a bandaid. It's one of those clear ones.

While the Pirates may have ultimately gotten their revenge in the form of a five-to-nothing defeat of one half of the Reds, the other half did manage to take down the Twins again.

You might be thinking that it's rather odd to have the majority of this dedicated to a man who plays for Pittsburgh, but I still like him and it gave me a reason to play with Tiny Casey again. And to show off my fabulous MS Paint Skillz. With a z.

I almost forgot! Go check out Red Hot Mama's tribute to Ryan Freel's birthday! Not that you need us to tell you about it. Odds are you came here from her site to begin with.

Newsly Backup

So, to cover all the news that we missed and you already know in one sentence:

The Reds signed half the world in two days and they are now owned by three guys I've never heard of.

To show you how much attention I've paid to the ownership change, I was operating under the impression that this had happened a while ago. Whoops.

And now, the moment we've all been waiting for, Tiny Casey, Rex, flamingos and the new trailer in Florida!!!

Yes, Florida is now contained within a two-dimensional 8 1/2 by 11" crayon drawing. Look how awesome that trailer is, though.

Presenting...

Tiny Casey's new tiny yard!!!! He'll be spending the next few days shopping for his retirement trailer and then it's off to Florida with Rex. We just can't send him to Pittsburgh. Flamingos are better than parrots, anyway.

On the Move

For lack of anything more exciting to report, here's a picture of Tiny Casey in his new home in Athens. He's got some kind of girly surroundings, but he's just gonna have to deal. It's either that or the street, and he's kinda fragile. Ha ha ha.

And because it's fun, this is what Great American Ballpark looks like from Kentucky. Interestingly enough, that same view was just on Access Hollywood.

I was totally wrong! There is something exciting to report. Freel is back and in prime base stealing form! Hooray for Pigpen! It's possible that he's been back for a while and I missed it, but I refuse to allow that possibility.

Who Are We Again?

What's the name of this team again? Who swept the Cubs with a combined score of 25 to 9? The Reds? Who doesn't suck? The Reds!!

That's right, baseball. Watch out! The Reds are kicking booty on the road like it's nobody's business. The intro to sports on the news was "Maybe the Reds should be a road team." I am beginning to agree.

In other news, Tiny Casey has been a rather boring focus subject. All he does lately is sunbathe and fish. He did adopt a German Shepherd named Rex. He rescued him from an abandoned cardboard box.

Tiny Casey and Rex check out the fishin' hole

Not Even Going To Ask

I didn't get to watch the game because of work tonight, so I checked the score a bit ago. 4 to 0 Dodgers. Not only was it a shut-out, they apparently were unable to get anyone past first base. Of course, I do believe the total number of players on base for the Reds for the entire game was 1. So now I want to know, but am afraid to ask, does the Central division of the National League really suck that badly? Aside from the Cardinals, of course. I mean, we can pound the crap out of the Brewers and even beat up on the Cubbies when the roster's at full strength. The Cardinals are untouchable, I know that, but we've even beat them up a couple times.

I've decided to call it jet lag. Just can't get used to it no matter how many times you fly. And I'm making that up because I've never flown anywhere. Tomorrow our boys will show those Dodgers what's up. Remind them that once upon a time (in New York City), Dodger was a stray dog that befriended a cat named Oliver in a lovely musical adventure from those geniuses over at Disney. And then remind them that dogs don't play baseball, but people do. And remind them that some crazy British dudes did a study and discovered that the winningest teams wear RED. And how much more red can you get than being the Reds?

And, for your viewing pleasure, here is Tiny Casey, strutting his stuff all over my desk.

Casey at the Bat

Yeah, we've all heard that one before. But I'm big on cliches for titles. Anyway, as of 5:00 tomorrow (technically today since it's 2:30 in the AM) I shall be the proud new owner of one of the Sean Casey figurines given away on Sean Casey Figurine Night, aka Saturday night. A co-worker witnessed that travesty in person, as well as managed to get bogged down with Casey figurines, so I decided I'd help him out. So tomorrow is Casey's homecoming. I should have a party. I just hope he doesn't smell like Marion's by the time I get him home. Christina and I will have to figure out something fantastic to do with Tiny Casey. Maybe we could turn him into a hood ornament for Christina's future new car.
